SpaceScan09 #19: Apes & Potatoes and SKRIET
Categories: Electronica • Features • Norway • Rock • Sweden

Two guys, one from Norway and the other from Sweden; the latter with a befitting artist moniker, the first’s of questionable quality; grandiose electronica and delicately bleak rock – it’s all here in ALL SCANDINAVIAN’s SpaceScan this week. So get ready to dig Apes & Potatoes aka Tobias Kristiansen and SKRIET aka Isak Sundström.
Apes & Potatoes (NO) (Photo)
He’s named himself after a friends song about Darwin and evolution and when listening to the progression in Tobias Kristiansen’s one, but ten minute long, track on MySpace the whole evolution bit makes sense. It’s grandiose, sweeping electronica you’ll find yourself get lost in and we can only hope the 20 year old will have more for us soon.

SKRIET (SE)
Bleak, apocalyptic, desperate and melancholic are the immediate adjectives I feel like throwing at SKRIET (“The Scream”), a solo project by Isak Sundström (Pascal). Others are great and haunting. Four songs are on MySpace and they really make promises for his debut album, which will be released later this year.

WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on MySpace, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop links to: spacescan (a) allscandinavian.com
